Grading

Grading will be based on assignments (20%), one mid-term examination (30%), and one final examination (50%). There will be (approximately) five assignments, given every two weeks. The mid-term examination is scheduled for Tuesday, 19 February in class.

All the written examinations will be open book, meaning that you can bring with you any documentation you like. Documentation sharing is however not allowed.

The basic marking scheme for assignments will generally be ``pass'' (A)/``fail'' (F), with up to 10% ``bonus'' marks awarded for exceptionally good solutions (A+). In some circumstances you can however receive a grade of B (50%).

Special Needs

Should you require special accommodations because of a disability, please come and discuss this with me at the begining of the term. I will not take into consideration requests made on or after the day in which the first assignment is released. You must also contact the Students with Disabilities Office to obtain authorization for any special arrangements.
